    Great video tutorial. 😉

    One question though,
When you back-up your hard drive, does it copy all of your save data including copy-prohibited data like my Rock Band 2 save file?

@PikminGuts92 The backup utility grabs everything. It’s exactly like the Microsoft feature that allows you to restore your PC to a certain point. Everything comes back.

You cannot transfer some, or most of your files. Downloads like QORE, cannot be transfered over, and if you call Sony, and ask them what WON’T transfer, you will wanna puke..

Now while the vid is great, and it is the same as Gamespots tutorial on how to switch, but, you, NEED a BOG section in HOW TO TRANSFER over your files to your NEW hard drive. No web site offers this, not even Sony. They only explain on how to remove the HD, and put in the new HD.

Back in Decemeber I called Sony, and I asked the guy about transfering my files, and how do i do it, because i wiondered where i was going to store my files during the HD Switch. The guy told me, that he coudn’t go step by step because it will take too long, BUT, ALL I needed to do, was buy a Male to Male USB cable, and put one side in a PS3 controller slot, and the other end into my PC’s twoer!
I said, Wow, that’s all i need to do is hook a cable from my PS3 to my PC..that’s it? I was told YES, and as soon as i hooked them up the transfer dialog box will be on my screen!
    AWESOME!
So I find a USB cable at cablewholesaler.com, it arrives, I hook it up as he said and nothing is happeneing. So I call SONY Tech support, like I did prior, and explain what I did, then was I was told to do, and he interupts me and says, “You can’t do that”!”

So I asked, what can’t I do? And he proceeds to tell me that I cannot transfer the files that way. So I again tell him that is exactly what I was told to do by YOUR Tech department. So WHY can’t I do it?
He then explains that the files in the PS3, when I go to transfer them, are in the FAT32 format and since my PC is a regular windows PC, it’s NOT compatible with the FAT32 file system.
So I asked if I could create a file folder in my PC and that is FAT32 Based, and he said no.
Well the next 10 minutes are a blur because I snapped LOL
