Guerrilla Games: What Is Next For PS3?

July 15th, 2009 Nick McCandless 44 comments

Today I talk about Guerrilla Games’ future plans for the PS3. Will they just develop another Killzone, or could it be something we have yet to see?

there was a rumor that syphon filter would use the killzone engine.

I wouldnt want them to make a 3rd person shooter unless it was more of an RPG.

I think there gonna milk Killzone and make Killzone 3 . They’ve pumped too much cash in to Killzone 2 and haven’t had great sales compared to other exclusive titles. They have the engine ,so they should be able to push out K3 in 2 years 3 max ( like epic did with GoW).

In all my days of being a Killzone fan (visit the site!) I know that Guerilla Games is FULLY capable of making a TPS, but knowing them, why stop there? 🙂

Actually, it’ll probably come out alot sooner than you think, the development time on the game actually only took about 3 years from 2006 to early 2009. Now that they have an established engine that can only be polished and made better, they don’t have to build anything from the ground up and can take alot less time to release another.
A good example is the difference in time between the last generation’s GTA games, after making the engine for GTA3 they upgraded it a bit but it still only took a year to release Vice City

btw though, I agree that a TPS by Guerrilla would be AMAZING, especially because the engine already allows for the entire character model to be rendered in-game while your playing so they’d just need to work out a good control scheme and camera for it

A third person shooter with the Killzone 2 engine would be crazy, it would prob just kill Socom franchise anyday. But most likeley its Killzone 3 on PS3 for the last time then I am sure Killzone 4 for the PS4.
