Motorstorm: Pacific Rift Adrenaline Expansion Packs A Bag Full of Destruction

Motorstorm: Pacific Rift Adrenaline Pack

This past week on the PlayStation Store, the guys from Evolution Studios released their second pack of DLC for MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, called The Adrenaline Pack. This pack is another fine addition to MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, coming with a slew of new tracks for gamers to test their nerves on. There are 3 completely brand new tracks, 4 volcanic remixes of old tracks, and a remix of a new track.

The first new track is called Hallowed Earth; this track takes place through a cavern. Due to Hallowed Earth taking place in a cavern, there are many blind turns, which leads to drivers not knowing what’s around the next bend. The blind turns also add an element of bewilderment, which helps to maintain the intensity of the races.

Also, there is a volcanic remix of Hallowed Earth, which turns up the danger. Hallowed Earth Volcanic adds lots of new lave lakes that riders must be careful to avoid.

The next new track in the game is called Brimstone; this track looks desolate and barren however, this helps evoke a feeling of disparity and makes the events in MotorStorm: Pacific Rift seem more believable. Brimstone also has a couple of separate pathways for bikes and for the larger vehicles, which gives the lighter vehicles a chance to stay in the game.

The last new track, Reef Runner is my favorite track. This track takes place on a beach and has some of the best lighting I have seen this generation. Also, there are a lot of pathways coming around the last stretch.

Now, that we’ve gotten the new tracks out of the way, let’s talk about the new volcanic remixes included in the Adrenaline Pack.

The first volcanic remix added in the Adrenaline Pack is Badlands Volcanic. Badlands Volcanic is my favorite remix because the changes to the track are drastic and make the track feel like a new track.

Also another new entry included in the Adrenaline Pack is The Edge Volcanic. This track has many new dangers that change up familiar routes from the regular version.

Another new entry included in the Adrenaline Pack is Mudslide Volcanic. I’m not too fond of this track, not because it’s bad, but because it takes away the path on the bikes where you could duck under the broken down barn.

The last and final entry included in the Adrenaline Pack is Scorched Volcanic. This track has metric ton of lava and lots of new dangers.

Well, at the end of the day, the Adrenaline Pack is a good addition to MotorStorm: Pacific Rift. My only gripe is that there aren’t any new play modes, but I honestly don’t know what they could have added. Also, as before, the new tracks are not included in the ranked races.
