If you were asleep all day, you probably misses that Oct. 13 is now the official release date for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. But wait, there’s more. People will also get a few choices when it comes to pre-ordering the PS3 exclusive.
Please hit “read more” to get the full details. I should warn you, though, that most of the retailers I’ll list have Oct. 1 as the release date. A Naughty Dog tweet suggests that date is incorrect.
So here are your options when it comes to pre-orders.
Best Buy: Here you’ll get exclusive multiplayer weapons that are gold-plated. The AK-47 and Beretta are your prizes. I don’t think they’re more accurate or inflict more damage on the suckas who are running around with the basic weapons. But they do appear to be the best pre-order goodies of the bunch.
Gamestop: Here you’ll get early access to a multiplayer beta that I’m fairly certain will be release to the public anyways. Oh, you also get the “Revenge” booster from the start instead of having to unlock it. Not sure what that does, but I’m guessing you’ll be serving up cold dishes left and right.
Amazon: This online retailer gives you a map of where to find the game’s treasures. The site calls it a “video strategy”, which means they’ll probably wait to send you a link to a YouTube video from some kid who spent the first night finding everything. Or maybe that’s just what I’ll wait for.
GameCrazy: The website only says you’ll get a mysterious “in-game bonus item”. Other gaming sites are reporting it will be in-game money that will allow you to purchase in-game stuff.
So there it is. You pick from a list of pre-order stuff that you’ll probably get by just playing the game. I hate to say it, but those gold-plated AKs are looking pretty freaking good right about now.
